I followed Amazons directions on the KDP website and ended up getting a phone call from a publishing company that has Amazons name. I asked a lot of questions and they gave me fair answers. Red Flag. I had my doubts but I was so ready to publish my book. We spent over months editing my book. I became supicious when they asked for the second payment to copyright my book. Red Flag. I did it anyway because I was focusedon getting my book done. there were activity that seemed legit, but then there was 3rd offer to go best seller at $3000 dollars and I did not have a finiished product from them yet. The editing team involved a person name Jessica. My first contact person was Jason Chaefer who offed the Publishing Package. I had to force them to get a secured link to acccept the initial payment. At this point I am excited and thinking my book is closer to getting printed. Next he mentioned the book being copyrighted and that could handle it. RED FLAG. I paid again by credit card this time giving it over the phone. I am now uneasy and disappointed in myself. So here is my hard lesson for the next person who will be smarter than me. I would treat AmazonDirectBookPublishers.com as very high-risk and not legitimately affiliated with Amazon/KDP. I cannot prove a crime from public web records alone, but the evidence is strong enough that I would not send them another dollar.
