Legit debt collector?! So I haven't been in a car accident in almost 2 years. Today I received a call about someone suing another person in regards to a car accident in 12/2016. I was a witness to an accident in October 2016 so I figure it could be related, since various insurances had been calling me for awhile, since they thought my number was the at-fault party's number (I let her use my phone to call her insurance). It seemed sketchy, since they didn't even use the person's name (her first name is Diane), but the number returns to a legit debt collector. The number is: (631) 261-8800. Thoughts? Is this one of those car accident scams I've heard about? Thought i would get y'alls input
