Transferable Appliance Warranty Question Location: Colorado, USA The previous owners of our current home bought a Kitchenaid refrigerator two years prior to the purchase of our home. The refrigerator is now failing but is still covered under the Kitchenaid Refrigeration Warranty. In searching online, the general consensus is that appliance warranties aren't transferrable. However, I can't find any verbiage in the Warranty that specifically says that. Am I missing something, or is the refrigerator still covered under Warranty? I do have the purchase receipt and the date of sale. Kitchenaid Refrigeration Limited Warranty: ONE YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY For one year from the date of purchase, when this major appliance is operated and maintained according to instructions attached to or furnished with the product, KitchenAid or KitchenAid Canada (hereafter “KitchenAid”) will pay for factory specified parts and repair labor to correct defects in materials or workmanship. Service must be provided by a KitchenAid designated service company. On models with a water filter: 30 day limited warranty on water filter. For 30 days from the date of purchase, when this filter is operated and maintained according to instructions attached to or furnished with the product, KitchenAid will pay for replacement parts to correct defects in materials and workmanship. SECOND THROUGH FIFTH YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY ON CAVITY LINER AND SEALED REFRIGERATION SYSTEM PARTS In the second through fifth years from the date of purchase, when this major appliance is operated and maintained according to instructions attached to or furnished with the product, KitchenAid will pay for replacement or repair of the refrigerator/freezer cavity liner (including labor costs) if the part cracks due to defective materials or workmanship.
