My wife received a letter, addressed by her EMAIL name to our address. I had an attached phony check for $195.00. It said on the check, it was an Allocated Waiver. I received a phony check in the amount of $195.00 made payable to the young son of the former owner of my home (I purchased my home 16 years ago). In place of the return address was: THIS NOTICE IS TIME SENSITIVE: SENT ON 3/11/2026 INFORMATION FOR THE MORTGAGEE ONLY There was a phone number of 1-800-803-9220. Received in the mail. Addressed to me at my address. No return address and no other identifying information about them. "Lender info: Approval Pending " printed above my address. Allocated Waiver check-like form for $195.00 signed by "William H. Keating" is attached. Notice said Call to verify information. Attention: This letter is to inform you about an important matter regarding the property at, (my address), secured by your current lender. We reserve the right to revoke the allocated waver after 7 days of receiving this notice. Please call immediately as this will be our FINAL ATTEMPT TO NOTIFY YOU: 1-800-803-9220. False "check" for $195 sent to me that states "Not all consumers have previous coverage. Not affiliated with your lender." No contact information other than the phone number 800-803-9220. For the third time in three months, my son has received a letter and an "allocated waiver" check of $195. No company name is listed. The letter reads: "This letter is to inform you about an important matter regarding the property at (address) secured by your current lender. We reserve the right to revoke the allocated waiver after 7 days of receiving this notice. Please call IMMEDIATELY as this will be our FINAL ATTEMPT TO NOTIFY YOU: 1-800-803-9220."
