I attempted to contact Xfinity customer service by phone but accidentally dialed an incorrect number after transposing the last two digits. The call connected to individuals who represented themselves as being associated with Xfinity. They stated they were an “authorized dealer,” but they did not clearly disclose the name of their actual company or that they were not Xfinity. During the call, they requested my personal information including my phone number, full name, date of birth, and Social Security number. The representatives also attempted to sell me services. Their presentation and call handling made it appear that they were legitimately connected to Xfinity, which was misleading and caused confusion. I became suspicious when they continued requesting sensitive personal information and did not provide clear identification of their business. I believe this number is being used to impersonate or misrepresent affiliation with Xfinity in order to obtain personal information from consumers.
