I was prompted by an e-mail to call Metapod Media Inc regarding some concerns they have about my computer being targeted by thousands of outside hackers. They proceeded to display the sites that were accessing my computer. They then told me that they could fix the problem, and went through a process that connected them to my computer. They told me that it would cost me $16,889.99 to have them fix the problem. I made out a cheque for that amount and I agreed that I would send them the cheque tomorrow by Speed Post or Express Mode and to get them the tracking number for the package. I scanned the cheque so they have a scan of the cheque. I then thought that I should try to get some background on Metapod Media Inc and read an account of a person that was scammed by them - for much less than they are trying to scam me for. Now I'm wondering if a e-mail scan of a cheque is cashable. At this point in time, they are still connected to my computer. They told me that they needed 24 hours to complete the fix on my computer.
