I received an e-mail from Microsoft Azure "Azure: Deactivated Severity: 3 AccessLatency-4396058-A10". It read: NOTE: This is a degraded email experience. That means the formatting may be off or details could be missing. For more information on the degraded email experience, [www.aka.ms/armemail]read here. Your Azure Monitor alert was resolved Azure monitor alert rule AccessLatency-4396058-A10 was resolved for keyed4396058 at 3/18/2026 4:08:13 PM. Alert rule description MICROSOFT CORPORATION BILLING AND ACCOUNT SECURITY NOTICE. Our system has detected a potentially unauthorized charge on your account. Transaction Details: Item name: Windows Defender. Transaction ID: PP456-677A-22B. Amount: 459.90 USD. Date: 03/18/2026. Microsoft Account Security Team. (Some other text here that had no meaning to me.) Alert deactivated because one of the following conditions is no longer true (This was followed by information that had no meaning for me. Then a link to "view in Azure portal".) At the bottom was "You’re receiving this notification as a member of the adj4396058G4 action group. To unsubscribe from emails directed to this action group click here." That contained a link that went to a page asking for confirmation to be removed from the action group. A search on that action group turned up nothing. The portal goes to the Microsoft login page (or one that looks like it) and the www address at the top of the message goes to what appears to be a legitimate Microsoft page titled "Troubleshooting problems in Azure Monitor alerts". A search on the phone number turned up no credible results. .css-c8hvdp{--Grid-columns:12;-webk [BBB Scam Type: Worthless Problem-solving Service] [Business: Microsoft Azure] [Location: CA, USA- 93405]
