Received a voicemail from "Alex Black" from phone # (310) 263-8856 - a California phone number but the voicemail said she was calling with Palm Beach County Civil Division. I returned the phone call and she said she was a Process Server trying to serve me documents re a Lawsuit with Great Eastern Law Firm. She told me my SSN, names of relatives, but not my current address. She asked if I have received anything in the mail. I told her no and asked what this is regarding. She said I need to call (844) 469-0985 and gave me a "docket #." I called the 844 and they tell me they don't make outbound calls. Then they said, it could be the process server. They asked for a claim #. I gave them the docket #. They said, oh yes I see it her and said "my" name and asked me to confirm the last 4 of my SSN before they could proceed. I told them I don't provide personally identifying information. They said well you have a nice day and I replied, "Nice try." The lady called my dad after I spoke with her and told him his SSN and gave an old address. Said she was trying to contact me (even though she just got off the phone from me) and tried to get him to confirm information about me. He's old and did confirm some things because she sounds so authoritative and formal. I forgive him. But, it threw him off because she had his SSN correct. A man called twice, the area code was the same as mine and i thought it was my daughters school but when i answered the call it was a man from what i remember him sayjng was the district attorneys office or something offical of that sort. He asked when a good time to come by was to serve me papers regarding a past due amount from a loan. I had no clue what he was talking about as i hadnt recieved any other calls or more importantly physical mail about a court date or being sued but i panicked and write down the information he gave me because he told me that id need to appear in court andbhe would come by to seeve me papers that day if i didnt get a "Release Order." The information he gave me was to call Great Eastern Resolution at (844)469-0985. I called the number immediately and a man answered and asked for the case ID number, which the previous guy had given me. I gave him that numver, along with my birthdate, email and debit card information so he could find a payment plan accepted by the opposing party. He ran my card for the 75$ that day and said id recieve an email confirmation regarding the payment plan and he would issue the Release Order. I have been very busy and stressed the past two weeks and had completely forgotten about that because i figured it was solved and didnt think about it but then friday of my next pay period came up and 119.67$ went missing from my account. I checked and it was the Great Eastern Resolution charge, however, i hadnt authorized more than 75$ to be run four times. Confused i looked everywhere for that email he claimed would be sent and couldnt find it, not in soam either. So i called the numver back to speak with a representative and the numver just rings for awhile and then says the peraon i am calling is on the phone still. I am reporting this to my bank but please dont give out information or pay for something of this nature without confi [BBB Scam Type: Government Agency Imposter] [Business: A Government Official
