My wife received a call on her cell phone looking for me, her husband because they wanted to serve him papers and wanted to make sure he'd be available at our home address. When I asked what he was being served with she was told by a lady with a heavy accent that she couldn't tell me because the papers were sealed. I could however call a phone # with a case # for additional information. Seems sketchy, She calls the phone # and they tell her this is Ellis & Associates and we're trying to find *lists my name* and it's interesting because not once did my wife say that she was calling on my behalf. She doesn't ask for the 'case #' but my wife provides it and says that there are two pending charges against me for defrauding a financial institution and filing a false claim,...and the judgement is for $2800 and I was allegedly making payments on a mastercard for Citi bank from 2000-2008. They are basically looking to collect on some random outstanding debt and can settle for a $1500 if I can pay it now.
