She was from the county processes office and that a court summon had been returned undeliverable. she had his name. Phone call from spam likely number. Asks for a family member, then asks if I can relay a message. Gives me Sophia Johnson / Sofia Johnson attorney name and her phone number 8663543388. I ask for more info she states that she cannot share for court proceedings or whatever. Got worried but when I googled the number, two other bbb scam entries shared the exact same story, hope to help others avoid the scam. Katie left a voicemail on my relatives phone saying: “ This message is intended for ________. My name is Katie. I'm calling with the process server's office servicing uh ________ County. This is regarding an active court summons filed under case number __________ dash _____. This is a legal notification to inform you that an attempt was made to service out a court summons. However, the documents were returned from the address on file to avoid a failure to appear in court You do need to contact the issuing attorney immediately. Her name is Sophia Johnson, and you can reach her directly at 866-354-3388. Her office will be able to provide you full disclosure regarding the case, including the filing date. Thank you.” My relative called the number from a protected phone line and has only reached a busy signal multiple times. We contacted the clerk of courts as well as the processing servers database through a link provided through the sheriffs office and they saw nothing. After searching BBB we found multiple complaints about this same exact situation happening to others across different states. I was contacted today and yesterday at 3:30pm via my cell phone and a voicemail was left by a person named Kimberly who said she was calling on behalf of my county process servers office. She said it was regarding a court summons filed under case number 4708323CR and it was a legal notification from the county. "We are contacting you to inform you that na attempt was made to serve you with legal documents requesting your appearance in court. However, the documents were returned from teh address we have on file. To avoid a failure to appear, you must contact the attorney in charge of your case. Her name is Sophia Johnson at 866-354-3388. Her office will be able to provide additional details regarding your case." Was told I was being served and needed to contact court appointed attorney, Sophia Johnson at 866-354-3388. Would not disclose any other info other than a case number. When I called that number it says their hours are west coast. I live in east coast so this made no sense for a court appointed attorney. Googled the number and found similar stories.
