I called Xfinity on Sunday, January 18, 2026 to get my bill reduced and was told to call 866-470-6654 to get a better rate than they could offer me. This person got me to look up a number on the settings of my cell phone, and then said he needed me to type in my birth date and SSN using the keypad on my cellphone. He was very pushy and said he needed this information to be able to connect my landline to my phone which would reduce my bill. I thought he was an Xfinity employee, but he was not and the person who gave me the 866 number sent me to this scammer. I called Xfinity yesterday, January 21, 2026 and she said that this be internally investigated. [BBB Scam Type: Identity Theft] [Business: Unknown] [Location: DE, USA- 19904]
