Called American Airlines to cancel my flight to Jamaica I was told to call back at this number and spoke with Jamie 1 (866) 509-1404 who was pretending to work for America. Airlines cancellations department we gave him our ticket number and he confirmed our flights then he asked that we pay $99 per ticket to upgrade and cancel our reservation found out this was a scam when I was told American Airlines never ask for payments over the phone. While trying to contact American Airlines to add middle names on an international ticket, I was referred to 866-509-1404 for help (Which I later found out turned out to be a phone number for an organization called flightreservationhelpdesk.com). We were told that to add the middle names, it was necessary to get additional services for extra leg room seats (note: now do not actually think this is true). Though the price was steep, we paid to avoid any discrepancies between our passport names and the ticket names. Over a two month ordeal of trying to get a document that showed the middles names and a document that showed we were to get the extra leg room seats, in the end they provided neither. The false promises (e.g “You will get the update within 12-24 hours“) and cynical reassurances (e.g. “Do not worry, I am here to help you out.”) were plenty, but in the end flightreservationhelpdesk.com neither delivered on the extra leg room seats nor the vouchers they reluctantly offered as compensation for not providing the extra leg room seats. In other words, they took our money and did not deliver the services for which we paid the money. Though their email address is “flightreservationhelpdesk.com”, they billed from an address of GLOBAL FLIGHT STATION HAMDEN CT. We have since checked both of these organizations for legitimacy. One cannot find a functioning website for either one. The “headquarters” appears to be in a residential area in Connecticut. There are virtually no reviews. It has a 68% “trust score” on scamdoc.com, and it has been reported to the Better Business bureau scamtracker, to Trustpilot, and in a scam report to Reddit.
