Be Warned: USPS Employment Scam My Fiancee was nearly the victim of an act of identity theft. In response to an online job posting, she called the provided number and was asked to provide her credit card number. Thankfully she had the sense not to post it, but I wanted to put this here so all of you could be aware. The USPS does NOT recruit except through it's online application system. Any other offers of employment from persons claiming to be or represent the USPS are not genuine, and likely related. Here is the text of the post listing, so you can know what to look for in advising others about this particular case of ID Theft. > The Postal Service is the largest government related agency in terms of employees. The Postal Service currently employs nearly 1 Million people and is hiring nationwide. There are MANY different positions available. Postal Service employment also includes career advancement, good working conditions and GREAT job security. >For application and Postal Service job information, CALL toll free 1-888-786-4041, 24 hours, Labor Services. >CALL 24 hours a day to get information on ALL of the Postal Service career opportunities available I've already reported this particular ad to the site administrators AND to the US Postal Investigation Services, but please take the time to warn your friends and family who may be looking for work to be wary of this particular posting.
