Accidently was provided the wrong number by an insurance company IT department to contact an insurance agent to discuss the status of my claim - it was off by one number: I was provided (888) 842-4662 which was the incorrect. Because the phone number was given by the insurance company, I had provided some personal information before I realized that some of the things they were saying and asking were odd (i.e. receiving $100 gift card and would be charged some sort of subscription fee), and then I started asking questions regarding my claim and realized this was a wrong number and it was a scam and hung up. I called the scam number back to obtain some information on company and they claimed that the company name was DISCOUNT SAVING ADVANTAGE based in Utah. The name of the person on the phone had an accent and said her name was Amy Smith (yeah right). They could not provide a company address or company website and when I searched them online, it was a scam.
