I thought I was calling Microsoft for help on my computer. I dialed 888-858-7540 but when I finally hung up on the scammer I noticed the number was 877-662-2843. I was having problems with my personal laptop so they asked me to use my daughters laptop and asked if they could take control of her computer to check and see if my wifi had be compromised. Thinking it was Microsoft I allowed it. They wanted me to remove the Norton because they said it was compromised and not working. It started to feel wrong and the guy was getting pushy. I hung up on him and turned off my daughters laptop. I called Norton and they did a full scan to make sure they didn't have control and it was safe to use.
