65 minutes of time wasting... my personal best! I've been getting calls for the last few weeks from 3 different numbers (all spoofed) claiming that I have a virus on my computer. On Monday, I finally took one of them on. This one said he was from "Windows Support" and told me that my computer had been giving off error messages. When I told him that I had just paid $300 to someone last week, he got all excited. Then proceeded to tell me how that person was fake and now that the "scammer" got my info, i would need to protect my computer. I'd never pay money to these idiots and typically try to waste some of their time. Then I asked this guy when the last time my computer gave off this "error message" he waited a little bit then said March 28. So, I replied that if that was the case, how did they know that the "repair" from last week didn't work? He proceeded to argue with me and said that if I didn't take his help, that his company was going to shut down my computer in an hour. Then I'd have to call him back and he would refuse to help me. Since my computer is owned by my Fortune 500 International company, I told him to go for it and that he WOULD be found if he dared to do it. Tuesday and Wednesday, I received a number of calls from that same number but they would hang up as soon as I said hello. Today, however, another number came up and I answered it. This one told me how he was with Windows and getting the error messages. Then proceeded to tell me that "Microsoft makes computers and Windows runs on all of them". I said that I thought HP made computers and that Microsoft Windows ran on them. I was told that I was wrong. I had some time to waste, so I decided to take him on. After telling him that I had paid someone else a few weeks ago, he told me that I needed to call my bank and have them refund me the money since I didn't give permission for it to come out of my account. I replied, "But I did give him permission. Do you want me to lie to my bank?" I could hea
