Accredo Pharmacy lied about my co-pay amount over text, and is refusing my dispute. Is there anything I can do? I take a specialty medication and recently my insurance switched specialty pharmacies from CVS to Accredo. I’ve never paid a cent for my medication since I got my own insurance, but apparently those days are over due to changed coverage of certain meds. Now that I’ve hit my out of pocket maximum my co-pay amount for this drug is $150 a month. I don’t need advice of where to get the medication cheaper, I’ve already handled that and wont be using Accredo again in the future, but the problem is I keep getting a bill in the mail for $150 that I owe them, despite not being made of a copay amount at the time of placing the refill medication order. The first time they called to schedule an order, they called my father even though I’m almost 30, pretty much violating HIPPA and even sent it to his address. He has terrible hearing and must not have heard the. Tell him there was a copay amount or he wouldn’t have agreed to placing the order on my behalf. So at this point nearly a month has gone by and I’m still unaware of a pending bill for $150, and it’s time to refill. Accredo sends me a text message opt into message for refills that reads verbatim: ACCREDO: Reply YES now to refill your med starting with (***) Str (****) MG, Rx ending in (****) shipping to address starting with (**). To make changes to your shipping address visit Accredo.com or mobile app within 72 hours. Reply HELP for help, or STOP to remove this service. That’s copy and pasted from my text messages except I used parenthesis and stars to replace my personal info. I replied “YES” and they sent another message which gave no additional info and also didn’t say the copay amount, or that there even was one in the first place.
