Ageatia recruiter employment scam? Hey all, I recently was notified of someone stealing my identity to gain employment. For the past year I had been looking for a job and finally got one I've been at for 4 months. After thinking back on the situation to see where my resume and SSN (idk how they got my SSN, I'm assuming I was part of a security breach as I don't include that on my resume) were stolen I believe it was when a recruiter reached out to me (I later realized I never applied to the position, they reached out to me) offering a microbiologist lab position with Coors (beer if you don't already know) I have a degree in microbiology so I first thought this was legit, I even googled "ageatia scam" but I found nothing to imply it was a scam and thought nothing of it. Well the lady on the end asked me to confirm a rate of payment and to send in my resume. I then never heard back. I tried calling the company yesterday and nothing, I sat in their directory and their talent acquisition department and nobody picked up for more than 10 minutes. They had a whole phone tree where you can punch a number for talent acquisition or sales so it /seems/ real. After I filed the police report and looked back at the email I noticed discrepancies that I feel like I need someone to confirm that this was overlooked and actually a scam. The email I was replying to was name@ageatiaglobal.com, but when I looked at the bottom of the email the recruiter had a different @ageatia.us email. The writing in the email is so decently written I didn't see anything wrong with it. I'm now assuming they used a template from a laboratory position elsewhere and were scamming me. Should I reach out to Coors? Should I try emailing the @info from the company to see if they're legitimate? I've notified my employer and my own contract company as well as my bank and the credit bureaus. I'm waiting to get the login for the SSA to file with them. It was incredibly frustrating to deal with the police, becau
