Scammed on Airbnb Hello Everyone, My friends and I were planning on going to Pitch Festival the 3th and 4th July in Amsterdam. Because they don't have their own camping, we decided to try airbnb. We booked an apprtement close to the festival and started chatting through e-mail with the owner (rookie mistake). This was the advertisement (but the link is already expired): https://www.airbnb.be/rooms/6207319?checkin=03%2F07%2F2015&checkout=05%2F07%2F2015&guests=10&s=DqIO (Charming Penthouse in City Centre - Rokin, Amsterdam, Netherlands) After some chatting back and forth we got an e-mail, we thought was from aribnb, but was probably just an exact copy of their normal information e-mail. We transferred €1100 to the given bank account, but afterwards never got a confirmation. We already called airbnb and made a statement with the police. We were now wondering if there are any people out there who had the same experience, and how they tried to work things out. We found out yesterday that someone on a forum was tricked the same way by the same e-mail adress. So if anybody tries to make a booking at airbnb, watch out for the person Piertommasso. If anybody has any tips or things that we could try to do, that would be really appreciated.
