Multiple men showed up at my door at 8pm. They were asking me and my neighbors to sign up for “cheaper gas and energy bills”. They claimed I’d be paying something like .0049 cents/kwh as apposed to something else. They pressured me to sign up to their company as a third party provider partnered with Duke Energy. I had to find an ID number on my latest Duke Energy bill and dial some other number on my phone. They told me to pretend they weren’t there during the call. On the call the person I called asked if the men were still there, (they told me to say no). The call took me through some weird questions including that account number and some other weird numbers. They kept telling me to say yes to the questions, and after the call was over i received a text saying exactly this… “ Hi REDACTED, TPV360 is contacting you on behalf of Provision. Please check and sign your plan details with Provision: https://app.tpv360.com/sign/signature/MTExMzA4OQ==/sms Reply STOP to opt out” Then I had to fill out a form electronically with the men still standing around me. I was then sent a confirmation text by this person I called with a set of confirmation information and details. It all seemed very fishy but I never noticed anything odd on my power bill. Today, 8 months after that day, I received a phone call from a man claiming to be from “Nordic Energy” and he claimed he was based in Philadelphia. I didn't trust him because of his accent and background noise of multiple calls being made so I asked him what the capitol of pennsylvania was. “ We are based in philadelphia “ Nordic Energy, as this man claimed was his company, IS a real company HOWEVER, it is in NEW YORK. I let him keep going with his speech but he asked me for my latest billing receipt. I refused and he assured me this was only to “lock in my current rate to keep my bill cheaper during the expensive winter months”.
