On Saturday, 10/19, I received an email from QR Code Creator that the free QR code I had recently created was about to expire, unless I renewed the code. I needed the code to be working for 1 more week, so I decided to pay to renew. The cheapest option was advertised as "Basic" and listed at only $11. I selected this option and proceeded to payment. Nowhere in the text I was provided did the company explain that I was signing up for a monthly subscription. It simply said that $11 would extend the QR code/account for 1 month. I submitted payment, and then discovered that $133 was deducted from my bank account. Immediately that day, I logged onto the QR Code Creator account and discovered that this was a yearly subscription that was charged in full for $133 (which was not explained anywhere on the website when selecting the $11 option). I immediately cancelled my account and attempted to reach out to customer service to request a refund, under false advertising. There is no customer service phone number for this company. I was able to file a claim through a chat program on their website, and only today, did someone review my claim. They told me "After carefully looking into your request, we regret to inform you that we’re unable to process a refund in this instance. As stated in our Terms and Conditions, all purchases are considered final unless a specific refund policy applies." Their supposed "refund policy" states that they do not provide any refunds. This is highly suspicious as a scam company. I explained that I believed I was only paying $11 since that was what was shown when I submitted payment. But now they have my $133 and refuse to refund me. And it would appear that there is nothing I can do about this. On my bank, the merchant name is listed as "Ask.QRcodecreator.com" [BBB Scam Type: Online Purchase] [Business: Unknown] [Location: VA, USA - 24502]
