weird automated machines calling my cell phone yesterday at around 6:30am pacific time, i received a phone call from a # i didn't recognize. it was an 800 #. i missed the call but received several other calls from other 800 #s throughout the day. all of the calls were automated machines that launched into some sort of pitch right away when the phone was answered, not even waiting for an audio prompt from myself. they are all the same automated sounding voice, but call from various #s and call about once every hour or two. they claim to be from AT&T and have some $200 credit i need to claim by logging into my account at attgood.com. i think one of them said attcool.com, but no such website exists and the domain has not been registered, so i might have misheard the machine. you can look at attgood.com yourself, it's obviously a phishing scam and i didn't bother giving them my info because i'm not that dumb. but i can't figure out how to stop the calls. they are from different #s every time. i block the #s by adding them to my rejected calls list, also by calling verizon and asking them to block them. but i can't just keep blocking a new # every few hours, that's annoying. can anyone help?? i have no idea how this started. i can't think of a single place i have entered my phone # that is a relatively new place on the web for me to enter it. the domain registration was created yesterday and points to some private registration company in australia.
