Someone got into my Paypal account and made a purchase with my debit card. This has never happened to me and I could use really use some advice. So today I checked my e-mail only to see one from paypal that included an electronic receipt for a purchase that I didn't authorize/know about. The purchase actually happened a week ago, I checked my online bank statement and sure enough it was there. About 100 USD was taken from my bank account, converted into Canadian CAD, then used on a website called "banggood.com" which I had never visited until today. It's a general goods website like Amazon. So far I have removed my card from my account. Is there any way they could have gotten the entire card number? I'm going to the bank for a new card tomorrow morning regardless. Better safe than sorry. I have reported it to paypal and have to wait up to 10 business days to hear back from them so they can investigate. Do you think my bank will refund the charges if I tell them what I'm telling you right now? Another thing is that on the receipt, the shipping address is actually one of my previous residences including my parent's old P.O. box. Is there any way that that's not really where it's being sent? Sorry for all the questions, but if you can help me out, you'd be doing me a huge favor. Thanks!
