A person named "Scott Gary" contacted me via email for a job I supposedly applied for. Since I am looking for a job, stupid me didn't check and went along with it. He was offering a remote job for $26 an hour. After an "interview" where his english wasn't very good, he then told me they would send me a check to purchase my computer equipment from their preferred vendor. That was the first big red flag. Why wouldn't they order and just have it shipped to me. He then put me in touch with "Mark DeRosa" who then added me to teams. He was supposed to be my "supervisor". He then sent over an employment contract for hire, and said that would be followed up with an I9. I never did receive an I9. I also didn't give any personal information that I remember, aside from which bank I used (no account or routing numbers) under the guise that they were "switching back to direct deposit in the coming months". During this period I asked "Mark" about a company website so I could learn more. He gave me the website broughtonwestinc.org. That website doesn't exist. He said it was under maintenance, but it's been 3 days. He also stopped responding and hasn't sent me anymore messages or emails since I started asking about learning more.
