The volume is very loud so he can hear it ring, but the most important part is every word being said is on the screen (decent size screen) so they can read it. They can also save the conversation (like doctors appointments etc) They will come out and set it up and show you how to use it and it is FREE paid for by the government. It has helped change my father's life :)
