On December 5, 2024, I was searching online for Claude AI (created by Anthropic) and clicked on a paid advertisement that displayed: Ad Title: "Claude: Your Claude Ai" Ad Description: "Use Claude 4 Free Online — Claude AI is a new AI writing tool..." URL: https://www.chatlyai.app The Deception: This advertisement used Anthropic's trademarked "Claude" name to mislead me into believing I was purchasing access to the official Claude AI service or an officially affiliated product. The ad provided no indication that Chatly is a separate third-party company (Vyro LLC) with no affiliation to Anthropic. I paid $31.50 for a 3-month subscription believing I was getting Claude AI access. Upon realizing the deception, I discovered Chatly is an entirely different company misusing another company's trademark in their advertising. Attempts to Resolve: I have contacted Chatly multiple times requesting a refund Chatly has refused to provide a refund I showed them their misleading advertisement and they refuse to acknowledge it is misleading I reported the trademark violation to Anthropic Chatly continues to run this deceptive advertising despite being informed of the issue Widespread Impact: I have found numerous complaints online from other customers who were similarly deceived by Chatly's misleading advertising.
