My boss gave all her employees these cards as Christmas gifts, so the $20.00 that she spent on my behalf was just a fraction of what she spent. Pathward®, N.A., Member FDIC sells these cardboard gift cards with the logos of many different legitimate companies that we are all familiar with (Macy's, WHBM, Chicos, Nordstrom Rack, etc.) The customer must log into their website www.chooseyourcard.com and by entering the card number beneath the scratch-off, the expiration date on the card and the CVV you "purchase" the company's gift card that you want to buy from. I was making a purchase at Macys.com, so I chose to make the gift card a Macy's gift card. At checkout, Macy's has a place where you can apply your gift card. It would not accept this newly converted card. I called Macy's three times. The first two representatives had no idea how to remedy the issue so after 10-15 minute conversations the reps both disconnected the call. My third attempt with Macy's took 39 minutes, this Rep was at least trying. She told me that they could not verify the gift card and it could not be used for the purchase. My card cost my boss $20.00, not including the fees associated with the purchase. I am out $20.00. With all the other cards that she gifted, this company has made hundreds of dollars on cards that are not valid. My nephew purchased two $25 ZillionsGift.com (Zift) gift cards and one $25 ChooseYourCard.com gift card at Walmart for Christmas gifts, but the gift cards are impossible to redeem. The way the scam works is you enter the gift card identification number, expiration date, and CVV number, into the ZillionsGift.com website, choose the participating retail establishments gift card that you want (we chose Cracker Barrel and McAlister's Deli) enter the amount of the card along with the recipient's email address, and they receive an email with a link to access the chosen gift card for printing. The process is identical for the ChooseYourCard.com card. The problem is, the links received do not work. When you attempt to access the card for printing by clicking the link, your computer either crashes or, if you have a good antivirus program, it warns you that the website is fraudulent and refuses to load the page. If you disengage your antivirus software, then click the link, you're notified that the website does not exist. Moreover, when you call the customer support numbers on the companies' websites, the recorded messages instruct you to use your phone's keypad to enter the sum of 7+5. The second time I called I was told to enter the digits 8 and 0 using my phone's keypad. I did neither, and was told the call cannot be completed. I waited for further instructions, but was disconnected. [BBB Scam Type: Online Purchase] [Business: ZillionsGift.com] [Location: TN, USA - 37087]
