Probably more spam than scam, but I'm curious I feel that humans reach an age where we decide that we "know" how things work and settle on it, and resist change, and that is the moment we begin to die. With the desire to keep my brain alive at least a short while longer, I decided to try to get my head around crypto, without investing more in it than I can expect to lose. With that in mind, I bought a Ledger and started learning how blockchains work, and purchased a few small NFTs and Unstoppable Domains, etc. Casual window shopping sort of stuff, right? Then a few days ago, I started receiving unexpected NFT-type things in my wallet. They look to be like an incarnation of Publishers Clearinghouse "You May Have Already Won!" type B.S. I have read about airdrops, but this doesn't appear to be that. As a longtime fan of sites like 419eater and the Jolly Roger telco service, I am curious about the prevalence and any methods for reducing spam. They contain URLs like [https://claim.basebase](https://claim.basebase). (net, so as to prevent accidental clicking) and claim.basechain. (app). All promise $1000s and "Claim your 1.8 CBeth!" So, TL;DR: Is this typical spam that everyone gets, is it a targeted scam, or can I pay off my grandchildren's student loans, and maybe start experimenting with cocaine? Thanks for any thoughts, and my apologies for the length of this post. Best wishes, all.
