How to create, seed and operate my own CryptoCurrency? Hi, I've been into CryptoCurrency for the past couple of weeks, reading and taking it all in. I have a billion questions... I am currently at the point where I would like to understand the "process" of creating a CryptoCurrency by using the source code of bitcoin and getting that new currency off the ground and keeping it running. I would love to write my own bitcoin from the source code but I failed discrete math twice so good luck right :)_, if there are tutorials or how to's please send me any links on how this is done - I'm sure it's not easy. But, looking around I quickly found this site http://www.coingen.io/ that offers a service of creating your own CryptoCurrency. So what happens next? I get the source code of my coin called 4DCoin and I then run the genesis block and ding, there are my first 50,000 4DCoins? Now I need people to mine 4DCoins - how? I put the coin on an exchange that allows people to transfer 4DCoins to other CryptoCurrency? Giving my coin some value by the fact that exchanges will take it for other CryptoCurrency? What happens if a bug is found in bitcoin? That means my coin has the same bug right? So someone patches bitcoin(who upkeeps bitcoin?) that means I need to patch my coin? Basically, what's the potential upkeep of having your own coin? Scenario: 4DCoin has been in existence for 6 months, there are miners and a small group of people using the coin for general transactions, what happens if the mining community dries up? Are the coins now worthless? Thanks, 4D
