[US] Need advice- debt collection scam? cornerstonefinancialrecovery.com Got a call from a "Cornerstone Financial Recovery" today regarding an OLD payday loan- like 7 years old, threatening to take me to court. I picked up, because that's scary and because I'm in the stage of my life where I'm paying off debt anyway/being more responsible. But their website has default text on it- like FOUR PANEL GALLERY and references to cheesemaking- and seemingly only has information for collectors and not payers. I did take out a loan with the company they referenced, though. They had a LOT of information about me- the last four of my social, the bank I was using, ETC. I don't mind paying this off if this is legit but I don't think it is. I can't find any information about the company on reddit or otherwise, and their domain is newly registered via GoDaddy. I would like a few people's opinion to make sure I dodged a scam and I'm not about to be taken to court over an old payday loan LOL. I did ask for validation of the debt and they "transferred me to legal" and just... hung up. but I have anxiety so.
