Covid Assist is a nationwide organization that connects volunteers with neighbors who can’t leave their homes and need help with basic non-medical tasks such as shopping for groceries and supplies, or picking up medicine from the pharmacy. We use text messaging to make connections quickly and securely, and ensure that volunteers and neighbors keep a safe distance from each other. Covid Assist was created by [VOCA](https://www.voca.vote/), a 3-year-old civic engagement startup, and uses VOCA’s existing technology to match volunteers and community members in need.
