Fake but valid credit card numbers. http://credit-card-generator.2-ee.com/q_fake-but-valid-credit-card-numbers.htm These will pass the initial test but will cause the scammer to get a charge back as the number don't exist. Last time I used this one I kept them on the line for ages. They even wanted to "800" on the back of the card. Oddly they refused to use the real 877 number. Just make up a zip code and its all good. The guy was Indian so almost certainly a Hindu. Try telling them they are a muslim from Pakistan. That drives them crazy.
