Community Reports

New phishing thread A lot of tech talk in this piece but the relevant component is this: It starts with clicking a link in an email. Will keep repeating this until people mumble it in their sleep: do NOT click links in emails. Frankly, don't click links in text messages, either, especially from unknown sources. Always, ALWAYS, go directly to the source to find out what's happening. Always. It burns the heck out of me that banks, credit bureaus, etc. still send emails with links, leading to confusion. I actually had a bank email this week where they provided a link and then underneath noted that the secure message could also be accessed by directly accessing my account using my phone app or the web if I'm uncomfortable clicking a link in an email. So why still send the link? Anyway...don't click it. You'll want to. You'll have to fight your urge to click the link, but don't do it.
