Illegal contest rules? I participated in a Windows Phone app development contest run by Microsoft that ended on May 20th. The terms required any entries to be submitted and "certified" during the contest period. I submitted two apps prior to the end of the contest. They were certified after the contest had ended. I paid $100 for an App Hub membership, a requirement to participate in the contest. I live in Ontario. I have two concerns about the [terms](https://www.developermovement.ca/phone-rules.aspx) of the contest. 1. Is it legal for Microsoft to require submissions to be certified during the contest period, since they could obviously delay certification until the contest had ended, ensuring that they would not need to award prizes for those apps? 2. The App Hub dashboard page looks like [this](http://i.imgur.com/Y67nH.png). The notification area suggests that my app has been certified. Going to the details page for the app shows [this](http://i.imgur.com/9Ltbq.png), indicating that the app has not been certified. The notification is clearly misleading. "Certification" would suggest that the current stage in the submission process is certification, but "Certified" suggests that the app has already been certified. I am interested in accomplishing three things if my concerns are legitimate. * I want the $700 in rewards that I would be entitled to if my apps had qualified under their terms. * I want Microsoft to recognize the problems with their contest so that future contests will have reasonable, unambiguous rules. * I want other participants that are in the same situation to be awarded the prizes that they would be entitled to. Are my complaints valid? What is the best way to pursue this? Thanks for helping.
