On December 26 2025, I placed the items in the cart and proceeded to checkout. Ironically, the website offered PayPal as a payment method, otherwise I would not have felt safe and secure to use the website. The total for my items with shipping etc. was $32.28. There was no indication at any point that this website was operated out of a different country or would involve an exchange rate for a purchase. I selected PayPal and it took me to the real PayPal site with my proper 2-step verification. However, during the payment process the transaction quickly changed to Japanese Yen (¥) on a screen that quickly flashed by without any U.S. dollar equivalent amount. I started to be concerned at this point, but unfortunately it was already back at the original fraudulent website (duravoncenter.com). However, the order status was listed as ‘Pending Payment.’ So, I thought I still had a chance to check things and see what was going on. When I clicked on the ‘Pending Payment’ button, it took me back to PayPal and tried to get me to authorize a payment directly from the bank account I have tied to PayPal rather than the credit card I usually use and just tried to use the first time. Luckily, I did not authorize any transaction this time because I later found out it would have been for over $2,000 U.S. equivalent!! I immediately checked my email and PayPal directly. I found I had been charged $729.43 U.S. dollars after the Japanese Yen exchange rate fraud for my original $32.28 order!!!
