I was driving and hit black ice and slid into a ditch. I was in an area I didn't know so I googled "Tow trucks near me" and the website emergencyservice24h.com popped up. I called the number and the person took my information and had me send pictures and my location to a text message. They then said that a tow truck would get to me in 30-60 minutes and it would be $460. I gave my debit card information over the phone and paid it. The person said dispatch would be calling me shortly. about 30 minutes later a different number called me confirming my location and saying they found a driver to come get me out in 60-90 minutes. I argued saying that I was in a dangerous location and I was told 30 minutes ago it would be 30-60 minutes. He apologized and offered a $50 refund. He said the driver would call me when they were 10 minutes away. About 15 minutes later a police officer showed up and stopped traffic so we could safetly get my car out of the ditch. I called the number back to cancel the tow truck and the person said there would be a "call out fee" but the rest would be refunded to me. At this point I was no longer in shock and was starting to get suspicious. A few hours later, I received a notification from my bank stating that my card had experienced additional fraudulent activity. So I "froze" my account. This is sick. I was scared and in shock and in a dangerous position and they took advantage of that.
