My friend set up a wallet on https://status.im and accessed another website through this wallet: https://ethytg.com/. From what he explained to me, he essentially earned interest on funds deposited over time using this second website. He transferred and withdrew some of these funds (always small amounts < $100) to his bank account, but the majority remained on https://ethytg.com/, accruing more interest. After a few months, he accumulated a significant sum (4ETH) and attempted to move it all at once, resulting in his account being locked. When he reached out to customer service, he was informed that he should have withdrawn amounts below 100 USDT only, and his withdrawal attempt triggered an account lock pending account verification. He inquired about the verification process, and was told he needed to send a certain percentage of the amount he tried to withdraw to his own wallet to verify his identity. He tried sending the amount, but made an error of about 10 USDT because he didn't factor in the commission. They responded, saying they couldn't unlock his account and reiterated he needs to send the correct amount to regain access. Now he's worried this might be a scam and is uncertain about sending more money. Does anyone here have experience with this and can confirm if this authentication method is genuine?
