On April 3, 1026, I visited what appeared to be an official government website to request a Social Security card service. The site’s design, language, and layout strongly implied that it was affiliated with the SSA. At no point was it made clear that this was a third-party, non-government, document-preparation company. I was charged $64.50 for an “Instant E-Package,” which I later discovered was nothing more than a generic PDF packet that is available for free on SSA.gov. The company provided no actual service beyond sending publicly available forms. This is not what was advertised, and it does not match the impression given on the website. After realizing the deception, I attempted to cancel the service immediately. The company’s communication is limited, and the website provides no legitimate customer support beyond a single email address. I have not received a refund.
