[US] are they scammers or slick middle/con men? www.ez-apply.us

To the Better Business Bureau, I am filing a formal complaint against EZ-Apply.us / Easy Apply, a company that misrepresented itself as providing official Social Security services and charged me for documents that are free through the Social Security Administration (SSA). On April 3, 1026, I visited what appeared to be an official government website to request a Social Security card service. The site’s design, language, and layout strongly implied that it was affiliated with the SSA. At no point was it made clear that this was a third-party, non-government, document-preparation company. I was charged $64.50 for an “Instant E-Package,” which I later discovered was nothing more than a generic PDF packet that is available for free on SSA.gov. The company provided no actual service beyond sending publicly available forms. This is not what was advertised, and it does not match the impression given on the website. After realizing the deception, I attempted to cancel the service immediately. The company’s communication is limited, and the website provides no legitimate customer support beyond a single email address. I have not received a refund. This business engages in misleading and deceptive practices, including: • Presenting itself in a way that mimics an official government service • Charging consumers for free SSA forms • Failing to clearly disclose that it is not affiliated with the government • Providing no meaningful service in exchange for the fee • Making cancellation and refunds difficult or impossible I am requesting the BBB’s assistance in obtaining a full refund and in reviewing this company’s practices, as many consumers are likely being misled in the same way. Thank you for your attention to this matter. [BBB Scam Type: Government Agency Imposter] [Business: Unknown] [Location: NY, USA - 11701]
