During these meetings, I was informed that I was required to apply for a credit card to pay for mandatory education or training related to the position. I was assured that the charge would be reimbursed after completing four minimum payments over a 60-day period. Based on these representations and the fact that I was speaking with real individuals in real time, I believed the opportunity was legitimate. However, upon reviewing the transaction details, I discovered that the funds were not paid to any legitimate educational institution as promised. Instead, the charge was processed through fanbasis.com, which is not associated with the education program I was told the funds were for. Additionally, I was required to sign paperwork stating that I would not dispute the charge. This document was signed under fraudulent inducement, as it was presented only after false representations were made regarding the purpose of the charge, the legitimacy of the company, and the promise of reimbursement. I would not have applied for the credit card or authorized this transaction had I known the true nature or destination of the charge.
