Viral facebook post by Jennie Garter detailed a limited-time deal to get a sample box of Nothing Bundt Cakes ($50 value) for $9.99 with free shipping, in exchange for completing a short survey. The post specified that this is not a scam. There were over 1,000 comments, but they were curated such that only a few appeared, claiming that the offer worked and that they had received their sample boxes. The linked website is farline.life (full url https://farline.life/products/The-I-Love-Trader-Joe's-College-Cookbook%3A-10th-Anniversary-Edition%3A-180-Quick-and-Easy-Recipes-for-Busy-(And-Broke)-College-Students-(Unofficial-Trader-Joe's-Cookbooks)- ). Besides just the url, this webpage has many common scam red flags. It announces that the offer is extremely limited (only 5 left!) and sets a 2 minute timer to claim it. There are almost no clickable links on the page to indicate that a real facebook comments feed is being shown or that the website itself is real and endorsed by Nothing Bundt Cakes. The checkout page reflects the $9.99 price and free shipping. It uses an unknown payment processor and says to use MasterCard for a $2 discount. Entering card details results in an error and a redirect to a second unknown payment processor. Entering card details here results in a pop-up asking to confirm $59 payment. This occurred on 2/26 and I backed out of the transaction at this point. On 3/3, there was a suspicious transaction on my card from RETRYCURE.COM for $19.99, which was flagged by my bank. I rarely use this MasterCard and had not used it at all since this attempted order. [BBB Scam Type: Sweepstakes/Lottery/Prizes] [Business: Farline.life] [Location: OH, USA- 43081]
