Need help with quit claim deed. Divorced, wife in another state, not sure how to format.... Due to the divorce we are short on money and attempting to handle a lot of the stuff ourselves. I’ve found several templates of quit claim deeds but none for our situation. She will be giving the house to me, its located in Washington where I currently reside and she lives in Minnesota. These are the issues: 1. She lives in another state, so we will need it notarized separately. I’m not sure if the way I added the second notary spot correctly. 2. She has gone back to her maiden name. Reading online I found this: >“Enter the marital status of the Grantor as it appears on the original deed. For example, if the Grantor is a married couple on the original deed but has since divorced, you must still enter "Married couple" since both parties are on the original deed. Additionally, if the Grantor is listed as a single individual on the original deed but has since married, you must enter "Single individual" since only one spouse is on the original deed.” Under grantors we list her married name, then on the notarization portion she lists her current name? Would she just submit the name change paperwork with it? 3. If we list her the married name under the Grantor, do we add the ‘husband and wife’ part? On our tax statements/deed it is listed as ‘Doe, John T & Jane E’ 4. Since we both have to sign/notarize separately I added a spot for each notary below one another. Is this correct? Should I instead have two pages for the ‘Grantors’. One with my info and Washington state notary and one with hers and Minnesota notary? 5. Do I need to put any footers on these pages or initial them so they know they all belong together and didn’t come from another document? I’ve uploaded a sample word doc of what I plan on using. We both purchased the house married, she is giving it to me. For the purpose of this I’m John T Doe. Her married name is Jane E Doe, her current/maiden name is Jane E
