Seeing what my grandpa keeps on his dresser in the nursing home broke my heart today. I know I’m not his daughter, but I just need a safe place to vent because my heart is incredibly heavy right now. My grandpa has had a brutal few months. It started after he had back surgery and was going to physical therapy. He was feeling really isolated and went out for coffee with his current wife (who, frankly, does not care for him the way she should). While he was using the restroom by himself, a bad mix of medications caused him to pass out. He fell backward, cracked the back of his skull, and his wife waited *two hours* before finally taking him to the ER. Since then, his life has been a non-stop cycle of medical procedures and different rehabilitation facilities and nursing homes. The isolation has been wearing on him terribly. To make matters worse, we recently had to pull him out of his last facility because of severe neglect. They weren't showering him enough, and they ignored a growing pain in his heel for an entire month. It got so bad that he actually ended up needing surgery for it. He’s been at a new facility for less than a month now. Today, I was visiting him and was laying on his bed while he chatted with my mom. I rolled over onto my left side and looked at his dresser, and I saw this photo of the four of us, "his girls" (attached [here](https://freeimage.host/i/CH0vLu4)). It completely broke me. There are no photos of his current wife, her grandkids, or my other cousins. Just us. It made me realize how much he holds onto our love while he’s trapped in this awful situation, but it also hurts so much to see him in a place like this when he should be safe, comfortable, and surrounded by family who actually care. I love him so much and I just hate seeing him go through this.
Purchasing a car and the shop is agreeing to a few fixes; how legally binding is it for them? Location: Houston, Texas, I want to purchase a used car from a car lot with an attached/in house mechanic shop. I did a pre-purchase inspection which pointed out some repairs that would need to be made within the first year of vehicle ownership. The dealer agreed to repair all items themselves and order/replace the parts before selling at the original/agreed on price prior to the pre-purchase inspection. [http://freeimage.host/i/screenshot-2026-05-05-at-121613-pm.BQyVI19](http://freeimage.host/i/screenshot-2026-05-05-at-121613-pm.BQyVI19) As seen above, on the page that lists if the vehicle has a warranty or is sold as is (being sold as is) they manually wrote in all the systems/parts they will replace under the 'systems covered' section of the contract. This is based on the PPI report critical items. If I make the deposit, they fix the vehicle, and a re-inspection somehow showed these weren't adequately fixed/replaced, where would I stand legally? Would they be required to fix them or void the contract? Thanks!
