I was targeted via Facebook through and ad targeting individuals looking to secure business funding. Initially, I was sent a message to join a live call with Aristotle Montgomery (AJ), the salesman. There were about 4 other interested parties on the call. He spoke of securing funding with 7-10 business days through setting up a shelf corporation. He highlighted the data points needed to secure guaranteed funding through SBA loans and other sources. After the Zoom call I personally spoke with AJ over the phone he was heavy on signing a contract to move the ball forward. They give the option to send the money through certified funds or bring the payment in person by money order. I opted to bring the money order to the office location of 821 E. SE Loop 23, Suite 525, Tyler, Texas and me with AJ's assistant Joshua. The in-office meeting was called "onboarding" to put a name with a face and sign a lease to be used as an office address for the shelf-corp. The lease basically ties you down to nothing but a payment of $600 or $99 a month for this virtual business address for "filing purposes". After the formal meet and greet I signed over the money order and was told AJ would be setting up the business entities and would give me a call someone later in the week with the next steps. Two days later, I received a call from a Madison explaining that I needed to review a video on "27 Reasons People Don't Get Funded". I had already seen that video but something at that point felt off. At this point, I have now seen fundingbureau.com, shelf-corps.com, Thomas Montgomery, Madison Montgomery, and a Mineola, TX company address from other parties that were never mentioned in the orientation. Today being the 3rd business day since the formal exchange of funds I have contacted them to terminate the contractual agreement.
