We looked up "renew passport online" and the GovSwift.com site is the first thing that popped up before the official government site. When we clicked into the site it was made to look like a government site that helps with green card, social security, pass ports and a number of other government documents. It has a image of these documents as well as a claim to have had over one million applications filled out through the site. When you click fill out application it ask you for all of the usual information- DOB, social, place of birth, all of your sensitive information you normally give to a government site for a document. When you pay you get an email confirmation with a PDF passport application that has your information filled out and a shipping label. So what it deos is it has you fill out the application information for them to then auto fill the same information into the application that they government would have provided. You pay them $111.00 to auto fill the information to a application after filling the same information in their application. Then when you realize what is going on and you still have to submit the application to the government and pay the fee to the government to get your passport renewed you try to cancel the transaction. This site then claim that you have to pay $100 to cancel the $111 payment. We have found blogs and other online post about people falling for the same scam and non-site should be allowed to use "Gov" or any name that is made to look like a government service. Even when we searched for the renewal passport site, this scam site has a higher Google ranking than the official site. It should not be allowed to stay up.
