Hello, I am the treasurer/secretary of ***** ** ****** ***** ********* ******, on 2/23/2026 I completed an online application for an EIN number. I thought I was completing an application directly with the IRS, but the website tricked me by actually being irsetax.com. They wanted $279 to process the application which had our pastor's name, address and social security number. It stated we would receive the EIN number immediately. Five days letter, the pastor received an email stating the application couldn't be process online and a form was manually completed and submitted. We would hear back within 2-3 weeks. We never received anything. I filled out three 'contact us' forms on their website as well as two emails and they have never responded. They also do not have a phone number on their website even though they state to call or email them. I feel we have been scammed. I mistakenly thought irsetax.com was the IRS website to file for an EIN number for a Trust. I entered my deceased father's Social Security number along with the trust information.
