I attempted to place an order for a reborn doll through JoannaRebornDolls.com for a total of $830. During the checkout process, I was informed via website and email that the acceptable form of payment was ApplePay, Zelle or Chime. Then once I placed my order, I was contacted via text message to inform me the only acceptable form of payment was a bank-to-bank wire transfer, despite the business website stating that Zelle, Chime and Apple Cash are accepted payment methods. After placing the order, I received an email confirmation showing my order details. Shortly afterward, I received a text message from the business following up and requesting that I complete payment via wire transfer. I informed them that I was not comfortable sending a wire transfer. The business continued to push for payment until I stated that my bank required verbal confirmation with the business before proceeding with a wire transfer. At that point, the business abruptly changed its payment request and sent me instructions to send payment via Zelle to the email address [email protected] , listed under the name Armando J. Rivera, which does not match the business name. Due to these inconsistencies and concerns, I informed the business that I was canceling my order. They continued to question my decision, and I ultimately blocked the phone number. When I later attempted to email the address listed on my order confirmation, the message was returned as undeliverable / no such email exists. I did not complete payment and did not receive any product. I am submitting this complaint due to misleading payment practices, pressure to use non-protected payment methods, inconsistent information, and invalid contact details.
