SCM Data I am trying to get into the programming industry, and got a pretty good sounding offer from this recruiting company SCM data. I don't have tons of experience, so they suggested in order for them to try to place me I would need to pay for a 1500 dollar training source that would be reimbursed sometime after placement. This set off red flag immediately, but I still wasn't sure. I sat in on this course with some other students just to see what was going on, and it seemed fairly legit. After wards, they asked how I was feeling about it, I said was reserved but strongly considering it, but I had some possibility going but it didn't sound too good. Right then, they offered me a job to help pay for the course. I was there for a fairly long time, so I didn't want to talk about any details right then. I did more research on the internet, and my skepticism is back in full. I went to this site http://www.jobs-salary.com/r/scm-data-job-review.html and there are some clearly fake reviews, and many accusations. So I think it would be difficult to keep up a scam if I was there working for them on Monday. But here is the question, should I go to the job and probe as much as possible to get more information. If so, can anyone recommend some techniques for doing so? Or should I not even bother, are there too many red flags for now? If I didn't describe that well I can give more information on request.
