Is what I did illegal and should I contact him again? About four years ago, I met a fourteen-year-old playing an online game. (I was seventeen, about to turn eighteen.) We quickly became friends, as we had a lot of things in common, one of which is that we were both gay. We eventually decided to jerk off in front of our webcams. We did this a few times. Then a thought occurred to me: is this illegal? I was mortified, I've never broken any law and definitely didn't want to be thrown in prison for child porn. I quickly ceased all contact with him. Flash forward four years, he's managed to contact me. He's eighteen now. Basically I want to know if what I did was illegal and if it would be OK to open communications with him again? Some facts: * We're both Canadian. * I know about the [Close In Age Exemption](http://www.justice.gc.ca/eng/dept-min/clp/faq.html), but does it apply to online relationships too? Any advice would be appreciated.
