Video chat solution for grandma My nan is currently very isolated - even moreso in the pandemic, and I'd like to set her up with video chat on her TV so that she can speak to family around the world. My requirements so far are: * Must be available in the UK. * Setup must hook up to her existing TV. * She's legally blind in recent years, so it must provide easy accessibility for her failing eyesight. * Must be extremely simple for her to operate. * We're talking one big button on one big remote if possible - she's in her 80s, and doesn't own a computer or a mobile phone, so she doesn't have the knowledge to operate most common UIs. * Auto-switching her TV to the camera via HDMI-CEC would be cool - one less thing for her to do. * Proprietary hardware and service is fine - though open to alternatives. * That said - I'm keen to avoid solutions that would require every family member to purchase proprietary hardware just to join in. It'd be nice if they just had to install an app on their phone/PC, or speak to her through a web app. * Ability to remotely manage it would be nice, in case of issues. A couple of rejected contenders so far have been Facebook Portal and [Kraydel Konnect](https://www.kraydel.com/) - the latter seems to have a nice simple interface, but requires everybody involved to own Kraydel's rather pricey hardware. Portal doesn't look ideal as they try to shoehorn on a ton of features she'll never use. I'd like it to be as close as possible to pushing one big button to answer a video call. Anyhow, that's it - suggestions or more questions welcome!
