[US] Re-Occurring Credit Card Fraud I have been the victim of two recent credit card fraud incidents in the last few months, with a strange twist. In both incidents, my credit card was used for online purchases, but the order confirmations were emailed to me with my name, address, and phone number used. Incident 1 (March): A bunch of athletic apparel was purchased from Dick’s Sporting Goods for in-store pickup. I am located in the north side of a big city, and the pickup was arranged at a store on the far south side of the city. I received an email confirmation for the order and pickup. The order confirmations came to my email, and they used my address (for billing) and it had my phone number and email listed. The pickup name was a different first name, but they used my last name. The order was successfully picked up (I was on a flight and could not catch it in time to call in). Charge was disputed with Chase and a new card was issued. Incident 2 (Today): An order confirmation came to my email from Lee.com for some men’s apparel. Once again, my addressed was used for billing, and this time, also shipping. Email address and phone was also used. A few other misc charges came through as well (FedEx and Sony PlayStation). Once again, I called Chase and they reissued a new card. I also put a freeze on my credit. I am totally baffled by this. I am almost certain my email is not compromised, as I’ve checked access logs and devices. I have 2-factor and changed my password to something very strong after the first incident. Where do I go from here? I am getting tired of changing my credit card and it’s starting to feel weird. I’m thinking someone may actually come by to scoop up the package when it’s delivered. No way Chicago police will do anything so I am at a loss. No other weird activity on my credit report or accounts.
